Let's get this unit ready. Everything below downloads from the
official source onto your device - a few minutes total, one press each.

Checking for updates…
OnTime timer server
The heart of the unit - free open-source software (GPL v3)
Bitfocus Companion (optional)
Stream Deck control - skip it if you don't use one
Companion Satellite (optional)
Serve this unit's Stream Decks to a Companion elsewhere on the network - most shows skip this
Keep power connected while anything is installing -
each step takes a few minutes and finishes on its own.

VIRTUAL DECK
No Stream Deck? No problem - add a Virtual Deck right here.
Set an Emulator ID on the Companion tab and it appears under Quick Actions.
Displays are blacked out
Low voltage detected - check the power supply
OnTime offline - holding page active
OnTime Server Mode
OnTime Server Address
In Remote mode the onboard OnTime server stands down - displays, the editor, and
Show Mode all follow the remote server. Switching back to Local starts it again;
your local rundown is kept.
Remote mode is active - this server is not driving the displays.

Emulator
Paste a Companion
emulator ID and a Virtual Deck tile appears in Show Mode, opening that emulator
full-page. Clear the field and Set to remove it.
Virtual Deck
Up to two 15-key Stream Decks can run from the USB ports (an XL counts as two - key backlights add up). For more, connect them through a powered USB hub.
Companion Satellite
Checking…
Satellite hands this unit's Stream Decks to a Companion server somewhere else - the FOH laptop, or another One. While Satellite is on, the onboard Companion stands down (two brains can't share one deck). Downloads from Bitfocus. The reverse also works with no setup: other machines running Bitfocus Satellite can join this unit's Companion. Laptop running Satellite? Keep it on power with the Satellite window visible - macOS power-naps hidden apps and drops the link about every 90 seconds.
Downstage Units on This Network

Network
No internet access -
the network works locally, but updates and the Companion module store won't load.
Timers and local control are unaffected.
IP Settings
WiFi
Captive portal detected on this network - show functions are unaffected, but
internet features (updates, time sync) are paused until the portal is cleared.
If the unit ends up stranded here, it drops this network and starts its
setup hotspot automatically within a few minutes.

Pi Timezone
Current: Loading…
Sets the whole unit's timezone. OnTime updates right away.
Companion follows the system timezone but needs a restart to pick up a change -
restart it from the Companion tab when convenient (briefly drops Stream Decks).

Tested by Downstage before they're offered. Displays stay live; restart when convenient.
Unit Name
Shown in other units' fleet lists and on Identify flashes.
Virtual Previews
Render an output's source in its preview tile when no display is connected
Captured previews trail the real outputs by ±1s; virtual previews render live and can run slightly ahead. Saved on this unit - applies to every browser that opens this UI.
Audio Cues
Time calls through the unit's 3.5mm jack as the timer passes each selected mark - tap a time to turn that callout on or off, and feed the jack to comms or a backstage speaker. Requires the OnTime server (local or remote): cues follow the OnTime timer, so other display sources (external URLs, patterns, Companion) have nothing to cue from. Saved on this unit. Line Tone plays a continuous 1 kHz reference for console line checks - a firing cue cuts it.
